H1N1 flu vaccine availability expanded at Allina clinics
Seasonal flu vaccine available for all Allina clinic patients

MINNEAPOLIS 12/03/2009--Allina clinics, including Allina Medical Clinic, Aspen Medical Group or Quello Clinic, are now making H1N1 flu vaccine available to the full range of patients covered by the current Minnesota Department of Health priority list.

"Patients who fall within the MDH priority categories are encouraged to call their Allina Medical Clinic, Quello Clinic or Aspen Medical Group clinic and make an appointment to receive their vaccination," said Lynn Berg, Allina's director for clinics risk and safety. "H1N1 vaccine supply is continuing to arrive, but still not in large enough numbers for everyone at this time, so we are following the eligibility guidelines provided by MDH."

The current priority groups eligible for H1N1 vaccine as defined by the Minnesota Department of Health are:

  • age 6 months through 24 years
  • age 25 through 64 years and have a chronic medical condition that would put you at risk for complications
  • pregnant women
  • a parent, sibling or primary care provider of an infant age 6 months or younger
  • health care providers or emergency medical services personnel

If an individual meets one these criteria and is a patient of Allina Medical Clinic, Aspen Medical Group or Quello Clinic, they should call their clinic during regular clinic hours to make an appointment.

Some Minnesota counties are also offering public H1N1 flu vaccine clinics. Individuals should contact their county health departments for that information.

Additional information about H1N1 vaccine availability at Allina locations is online at Allina.com/flu.

Seasonal flu vaccine now available

In addition, Allina's clinics have received their final and full shipment of seasonal flu vaccine. This vaccine is now available for all Allina patients (Allina Medical Clinic, Aspen Medical Group and Quello Clinic).

Patients wishing to receive a seasonal flu vaccine should call their regular clinic to make an appointment.
